Course Description

Point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) is rapidly becoming the standard of care in the investigation of pericardial effusion given it's superior characteristics to physical exam. In addition, it has the benefits of being performed rapidly and safely at the bedside and is free from ionizing radiation. The KidSONO pericardial effusion module allows learners to master each step on the path to PoCUS competence. Upon completion, clinicians will be able to safely perform and interpret PoCUS images at the bedside.

Certification

This activity is an Accredited Self-Assessment Program (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the University of Calgary Office of Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development.
