Course Description
Point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) is a valuable, non-invasive tool for evaluating neck masses in the pediatric population. It enables rapid, real-time assessment and can accurately distinguish between common causes such as reactive or inflammatory lymphadenopathy, infections, and malignancy. At the bedside, PoCUS enhances diagnostic accuracy beyond physical examination alone and plays a key role in guiding further investigations or referrals.
The KidSONO lymph node assessment module equips learners with the knowledge and technical skills needed to confidently perform and interpret cervical lymph node ultrasound. Upon completion, clinicians will be able to integrate PoCUS findings with the clinical picture to guide safe, timely, and informed decision-making in the management of pediatric neck swelling.
