Course Description
Point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) is a practical and effective bedside tool for diagnosing acute appendicitis in pediatric patients, where timely assessment and minimizing radiation are priorities. The KidSONO Appendicitis module allows learners to develop the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to perform and interpret PoCUS for suspected appendicitis.
Upon completion, learners will be able to identify when PoCUS is appropriate in suspected appendicitis, perform the technique effectively, and recognize ultrasound findings that support the diagnosis.
